Welcome to the third annual Firecracker 6 run/walk. We look forward to you joining us for this year's event. Start the tradition this coming 4th of July! 6 miles for fun, 6 miles for your health, 6 miles for our state, and 6 miles for our country!
Description:
The 6 mile course takes participants on a one of a kind trek through Downtown Indianapolis. Start/Finish line will be on North Delaware Street, right next to the historic Indianapolis City Market. Participants will navigate famous streets such as Massachusetts Ave, Meridian, Capitol, Maryland, Virginia, and Delaware. Throughout the course runners and walkers will enjoy seeing the such sites as the Murat, Indiana War Memorial, Soldiers and Sailors Memorial, Indiana State Capitol, Lucas Oil Stadium, Fountain Square and of course City Market.
Rules & Regulations:
Course Time Limit: 18:00 minutes per mile
All participants will be required to maintain course limit pace!
Course Safety: Indianapolis Metro Police will regulate traffic and close course streets during the course time limit.
RRCA Event: Please review the below safety regulations and guidelines.
Under RRCA regulations, absolutely no animals, bicycles, skateboards, jogging strollers*, and roller skates or blades.
The use of personal music devices is strongly discouraged at this race. To enjoy all that our race has to offer and for the safety of all participants, Firecracker 6 encourages a headphone-free environment during the running of the Firecracker 6.
*Special Note: The Road Runners Club of America strongly recommends against the participation of baby strollers/joggers in road races and against race organizers creating baby stroller divisions. The reason for this recommendation is that the inclusion of strollers in races increases the potential for injury to race participants and children.

Congratulations to ALL finishers - In the Six mile event, the overall winners among the men were Ben Ingram (33:10), Brad Robinson (34:28), Ryan Martine (34:40) and among the women were Sarah Overpeck (40:52), Julie Southworth (44:58), and Rocio Arellano (45:54). Our youngest finishers of the day were 9 year old Abby Allen from Bloomington and Maggie Hanner from Indianapolis. Our oldest finisher of the day was Arnold Sweet (76y) of West Lafayette, IN.
